Viking Ra, owned and operated by Viking, was built to navigate the Nile and launched in 2018 after being stripped down to its steel frame and reconfigured into a modern, elegant vessel. Fully reimagined to international standards and Viking design specifications, she is now an all-suite, state-of-the-art ship with the clean, elegant Scandinavian design Viking is known for. Accommodating just 52 guests, she offers the ultimate in comfort with five decks and 26 cabins that balance refined privacy with generous social spaces. Public rooms feature expansive views, bright interiors, and quiet corners for reading or reflection, while the top decks invite sun and panoramic Nile scenery. Onboard there is a thoughtful program of enrichment and activity built around Nile exploration, including expert-led lectures on Egyptology, carefully curated shore excursions to temples and tombs, and cultural performances ashore or in the lounge, as well as culinary demonstrations and tastings that showcase regional flavors. In the cabins guests have access to US 110V and EU 220V electrical plugs, though adapters are not provided, so plan accordingly.
